The Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative has announced the 4th phase RFP, with pre-proposals due January 4th. This will be handled within UM as a limited submission opportunity. As such, those planning to serve as a Consortium Director on a proposal should notify ORSP (Alice Clark or Jason Hale)) no later than December 6, and those planning to serve as IN ANY CAPACITY (PI, co-PI, or collaborator) on any proposal from UM or another instiution must notify ORSP no later than December 13, or after the 13th, immediately upon being invited to collaborate on a proposal.
The Mississippi Senate's Highway Study Committee will hold three "Town Hall" meetings in December 2013 to hear suggestions from the public about how the state can better improve our highways, roads, and bridges. One of these meetings will be held at the Inn at Ole Miss, Monday, December 16, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
The University Research Board has approved Mandatory Grant Management Education and Training for all UM faculty and staff who serve as Principal Investigators (PIs) and Co-PIs on sponsored grants and contracts. A team at NASA and the Stennis Space Center (NASA/SSC) is seeking a collaborator knowledgeable in radioactive hydrogent effluent filter technology to assist in evaluating exhaust scrubbing technology requirements for nuclear thermal propulsion (NTP) engines--engines that could reduce risk and transit time for humans to Near-Earth Objects and/or Mars.
