Governor Bryant Unveils MS Energy Development Roadmap

On October 4, 2012, Governor Bryant unveiled “Mississippi’s Energy Roadmap”, which includes 6 focus areas:

  1. Enhancing Mississippi’s position as a top state for oil and gas-related exploration and extraction
  2. Promoting Mississippi’s competitive advantages, maximizing energy resources and expanding the energy value chain
  3. Expanding energy capacity through conservation and efficiency
  4. Developing transportation and energy infrastructure to meet growing demand
  5. Increasing energy-focused research and development
  6. Meeting the workforce needs of the energy industry

The Governor's Energy Career Expo

The Governor’s Energy Career Expo, sponsored by the MDA’s Energy & Natural Resources Division, the Governor’s Job Fair Network and the Mississippi Department of Employment Security will be held October 30, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Mississippi Trade Mart. The expo will be both a job fair and a sector-specific educational event. Job seekers will have the opportunity to learn about and apply for open positions as well as have a chance to learn more about the energy sector and specific job training opportunities.
