Call for Abstracts – Pilot Funding for Solutions to Childhood Obesity in MS

Award Budget: Up to $25,000 per year, for two years

Eligibility: Those affiliated with the University of Mississippi or the University of Mississippi Medical Center

Abstract Due Date: October 15, 2016

Full Proposal Due Date: December 12, 2016

The Mississippi Center for Obesity Research (MCOR) is calling for abstracts of projects which propose innovative ways to curb childhood obesity in the state. Projects from all disciplines are welcomed, including therapies from the basic and clinical sciences, as well as those related to community nutrition, psychology, policy analysis, and principles from business and education. It is anticipated that projects ultimately selected to receive pilot funding will contribute novel strategies and creative insights that address the unique challenges to ensuring the health of Mississippi’s children.
