Notification of Access to NSF FastLane Proposals

Under the new Proposal Preparation system for NSF’s FastLane, PIs choose what sort of access they wish to give the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (the “Sponsored Research Office” or “SRO” in FastLane lingo). The first choice is “view only,” appropriate for an early review of all or part of the proposal. The second is “view and edit,” which allows personnel in the Office of Research to provide hands-on assistance in preparing the proposal without requiring the PI to create and share a proposal PIN number. The third choice, “view, edit, and submit,” must be selected before the Office of Research can submit the proposal. Please be aware that FastLane notifies the Office we’ve been given access ONLY in the “view, edit, and submit” mode. If you select one of the first two options, you will need to contact the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs to let us know you’ve provided access and tell us what assistance you wish us to provide. We won’t know, otherwise. When the “view, edit, and submit” option is selected, the Office is immediately notified by FastLane; however, we will not submit the proposal (and certainly will not edit it) without consulting the PI.

Check on FastLane Availability

NSF has implemented a toll-free number to allow researchers to check on the status of FastLane availability. The number is 1-800-437-7408.

New Web Addresses at NIH

The web addresses for the Office of Extramural Research (OER) Grants and Training Opportunities have been changed to the following:

Training main page: http://grants.nih.gov/training/
All web pages within these sites have a similar change, i.e., “www.” to “grants.”
