Neutron Science Call for Proposals

Proposals for beam time at Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) and Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) will be accepted via ORNL's web-based proposal system until NOON EASTERN TIME, Wednesday, April 13, 2016.  This call is for experiments anticipated to run July through December 2016.

NSF EPSCoR Outreach – Summer 2016 Lab Experience for High School Students

5,000 of NSF EPSCoR funding is available for one UM or UMMC Summer 2016 outreach project to high school students. UM and UMMC white papers should be submitted on or before 2/1/2016, using the UM InfoReady portal at: https://olemiss.infoready4.com/. New users to this portal will first need Register (top right link on the web page) for an InfoReady account, using their UM or UMMC e-mail address. The competition is listed in the portal as EPSCoR High School Student Outreach Summer 2016.

NAS Gulf Research Program Exploratory Grants 2016

 

Exploratory grants that seek to break new ground to address an old or a new problem through innovation on one of two topics:

The Sea Grant Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship Program: Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium

Graduate Students and Law Students:  Would you like to conserve ocean and coastal resources?  Become a Sea Grant Knauss Marine Policy Fellow and use your natural or social science knowledge to work on environmental issues.  A placement process will match you with  a federal agency or Congressional office in  Washington, D.C., where you will work for one year as a paid fellow.

Learning & Leadership Grants support public school teachers, public education support professionals, and/or faculty and staff in public institutions of higher education for one of the following two purposes:

The Foundation currently accepts proposals for small research grants, with a budget limit of $50,000.  The foundation leaves the duration of the project up to the PI/research team to determine, with the expectationthat it will be appropriate for the work being proposed.  The foundation currently receives over 500 proposals per year, of which they can fund roughly 10%.
