Innovation at Ole Miss ~ Technology Management

The University of Mississippi is committed to ensuring that the discoveries made at our institution reach their fullest potential – whether that be scholastic or entrepreneurial.  UM currently has over 35 US patents pending and over 30 issued US patents, in addition to numerous international patents and patent applications.  Over 70% of these technologies are under active license/option agreements including some by companies based upon research done by UM faculty. There are also over 30 Technologies Available for Licensing currently being marketed by DTM based on research conducted in UM laboratories and facilities. 

In addition to the work being done through DTM, the state is home to over 30 companies that are part of the remote-sensing industry cluster. This cluster is a direct result of the work of EIGS (formerly MSCI), a partnership of the State of Mississippi, NASA, and Mississippi's four research universities, which is managed by UM personnel.
